On December 18, 2015 our mother Rosanne Walerak passed away from triple negative breast cancer. Our lives have not been the same since. Myself and my brother Joe are active members at our local gun club the Cedar Valley Conservation Club where we enjoy multiple shooting sports but most often find ourselves shooting trap. Hosting an event like this allows us to do something for the community and draw folks out to the conservation club all while raising money for the Hormel Institute for breast cancer research. We know how hard it is to lose a loved one to breast cancer and we don’t ever want anyone to have to go through it. What started as a casual conversation quickly led us to hosting the first Shooters for Hooters trap shooting event! While the name is fitting, I’m sure our mother in heaven is shaking her head with disbelief that her boys could actually pull this one off!
